The Belton Police Department has made an arrest in connection with several recent car burglaries in the Leon Heights area.
Cody Blaze White, 20, is charged with nine counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.
At about 2 a.m. on August 4, 2016, a Belton police officer patrolling the Leon Heights area witnessed two men run into a wooded area after spotting his patrol unit. The officer quickly determined that several vehicles in the area had been burglarized. Mr. White emerged as a person of interest early in the investigation. Belton police have identified the second person who was involved, but anticipated charges against that individual have not yet been filed.
All of the burglaries occurred to unlocked cars.
Criminal charges are merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
