The Belton Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) approved an offer from American Builders & Contractors (ABC) Supply Co., Inc. in their acquisition of six acres of land from Phase II of the Belton Business Park on Friday, June 8.
“Belton continues to experience significant growth as a result of business expansions,” said Cynthia Hernandez, Executive Director of the Belton Economic Development Corporation. “ABC Supply will be a great addition to the business community and we are happy to facilitate their expansion in the region with a new location in the Belton Business Park.”
The BEDC will facilitate ABC’s application to the City of Belton for a tax abatement request, which will be put forth during inspection.
As wholesale distributor incorporation, ABC Supply supplies various building materials for contractors, and they are out of storage space for their heightened amount of production. Because they are currently leasing a 20,000 square foot building on IH-14 in Nolanville, this new land would create improvement for not only the company, but the community as well, as it will open new employment opportunities.
As it stands, ABC Supply is offering $392,040 for the six acres, but the seller is set to cover survey, platting, commission, closing costs and utility fees. Thus, the BEDC’s total estimated cost is $81,272.40 for minor improvements for water and wastewater in the shovel ready land.
In terms of total production costs, ABC Supply is ready to pay $4.1 million for land and their 40,000 square foot masonry and metal building, but the building plans are pending on inspection.
