AgriLife Extension to host Spring Forage Seminar

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agriculture committees in Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Limestone and McLennan County are sponsoring a Spring Forage Program on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center in McGregor (773 Ag Farm road).  Cost for the program is $20.00 per person, payable at registration.

Speakers for the tour will be:  Ricky Linex, Wildlife Biologist-Natural Resources Conservation Service; Dr. Larry Redmon – Extension Forage Specialist; Dr. Larry Unruh, American Plant Food and Dillon DeMuth, Dow AgroScience Field representative.

Topics for the tour include:  Weed and Grass Identification; Establishment of Warm Season (Native and Improved) Grasses; Managing Fertility of our Warm Season Grasses and Weed and Brush Control.  The program will conclude with an informal walking tour.

Those in attendance with a private applicators license will receive (2) two General and 1 IPM continuing education hours.

Breakfast will be provided by Lone Star Ag Credit.  The meal will be served prior to walking tour.  RSVP is required for the meal by Monday, April 6, 2015 by calling (254) 757-5180.
