Belton business posts strong retail sales month

Belton business posted a strong month in retail sales. The city received $354,544 in sales tax rebates from the state off of sales in March. The increase over last year’s $323,530 accounted for a 9.58 percent increase. For the year the City of Belton has received $1,558,015 for a 3.21 percent increase over last year’s numbers.

Harker Heights with $488,129 received was down slightly and is currently down .22 percent. Killeen was up 5.62 percent for the month and almost 2 percent up for the year. Morgan’s Point Resort was up 14.39 percent with $14,852 received from the state. For the year MPR, is up 10 percent.

Temple was up a whopping 26 percent with $1,792,731 received. For the same time last year, Temple reported $1,421,811.
