Special to the Journal
The January 2019 issue of Texas Highways magazine has an article in the Getaway section that features Belton as a great location to visit. The article points out the merits of Bell County as a whole but lists multiple businesses in Belton as destinations.
“Belton has great small businesses, and the article did a great job of introducing these establishments to people from other regions of Texas,” said Belton Public Information Officer Paul Romer.
The article included a graphic that listed travel times from Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston. It recommended lodging in Salado and eating and shopping in Belton.
The article specifically encouraged people to shop at Cochrane, Blair & Potts and eat at both barbecue restaurants on Central Avenue. The Gin at Nolan Creek was also a food location that was highlighted.
Of course, the Bell County Museum was listed as a top historical attraction, and beer enthusiasts were informed about Bold Republic Brewing Company.
“We’re confident that the article will lead to day trips or weekend visits from people who enjoy that sort of thing,” Romer said. “Belton is a great place to live, and more than ever before a great place to visit, too.”
