Beltonian named 2014 Engineer of the Year

Wm. Mack Parker, P.E. was named 2014 Engineer of the Year for the Central Texas Region by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) at their annual banquet held on Feb. 26. This award recognizes professional engineers who have represented their profession with the utmost dignity and respect as well as their contributions to the community.

Professionally, Mack has served as Branch President and Section Director of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is also a member of the Texas Floodplain Management Association.

Mack is active in several community organizations. He is a past member and Director of the Belton Lions Club. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce and was named Citizen of the Year in 2000. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Belton Economic Development Corporation and Temple Development Standards Advisory Board. Mack is a recent graduate of the City of Belton Citizens Helping in Police Service (CHIPS) program which expands police resources through volunteers.

As a Senior Project Manager with Kasberg, Patrick & Associates, LP (KPA), he is responsible for the planning and design of transportation, drainage, pedestrian trails, water and wastewater projects, master planning, project management and construction administration. He served as the Project Manager and Engineer on the recently completed Nolan Creek Hike & Bike Trail Extension in Belton, Texas.

He is currently serving as the Project Manager on the West Ninth Avenue Extension and Bridge Construction Project in Belton, Texas.
