Special to the Journal
The City of Temple is announcing the availability of grant funds for area non-profit agencies that provide programs and/or services within the City of Temple. Non-profit agencies can apply for funding starting March 4th, applications are due no later than 5 p.m. on April 8th.
The City has two distinct grants available to public service agencies:
•Community Enhancement Grants (CEG)
•Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
Both grants have unique requirements that can be found in detail, on the City’s website (www.templetx.gov/grants) and on the online grant application. The online application can be accessed through the City’s website (www.templetx.gov/grants) or https://templetx.wufoo.com/forms/zqpg7xu05gskr2/. All organizations, that are considering submitting an application, are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Application Workshop on March 11 at 2 p.m. in the first floor conference room in the Community Resource Center at 101 N. Main Street in Temple.
The City supports the efforts of many public service agencies throughout the community. We receive numerous requests from various community agencies seeking supplemental funding each year. Because there are more requests than available funds, we request each agency submit a formal written request for funding by completing the online application.
Proposals that align with City of Temple core values will be considered; which includes providing programs and/or services that help the City of Temple support, maintain or expand on our
• fiscal soundness;
• core services;
• focus on people; and
• strategic, financial and tactical plans
• CDBG Consolidated and Annual Action Plans.
Completed proposals must be submitted via the online application no later than 5 p.m., Friday, April 8.
