Mrs. Gereline Flowers, 96 of Quitman passed away Sunday, July 3, at her residence. Mrs. Flowers was born September 15, 1919 to the late Joseph William Youmans and Saviner Milton Youmans. She retired as an LPN and was a member of Quitman First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Gereline Selph of Quitman and Toinette (John) Welch of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, Aimee Bass (Jamie) Carroll of Madison, Fla., Ashley (Beth) Bass of Tallahassee, Fla., Casey (Lissa) Welch of Ft. Polk, La., Craig (Kate) Welch of Woodwridge, Va., Bill (Tina) Martin of Eagle River, Ark, Cator Martin of Belton, Texas., Robert Martin of Belton, Texas, and Cynthia Buell of Belton, Texas; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Waldo H. (Dixie) Youmans of Plant City, Fla., and Emory A. (Milda) Youmans of Killeen, Texas; sister, Mary Griffin of Gainesville, Fl.; and sister-in-law, Mattie Lee Youmans of Plant City, Fla.
Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Flowers; son, Winston Martin; great grandchld, Brandon; brother, Linton W. Youmans; sisters, Leona Hammock Miley, Toinette Sowell, Wyzette Griffin, Dora Carmichael, and Jo Perra. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, at Quitman First Baptist Church. Interment followed at Columbia Cemetery. Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
