The Girl Scout of Central Texas submitted a petition for the annexation of 31.46 acres of land in the G.C. Fraley Survey to the Morgan’s Point City Council Tuesday. The MPR council approved the request and two public hearings will be held concerning the annexation request. The hearings will be held September 13th and 27th. If there are no issues the council will consider annexation October 11th.
There is a planned subdivision on the property with 20 lake front homes. The subdivision will be called the Cliffs at Lake Belton an exclusive high end subdivision with lake front property.
In a light meeting the council approved an administrative agreement to renew the COBRA contract for health insurance continuation.
Streets, water and electricity work has been completed for the Sobrante Ridge subdivision. Rancho Del Lago subdivision is well underway. Road base is being installed.
BSP Engineers are working on a plan to extend a 12 inch water main to Camp Kachina. The plan is along the north side of Morgan’s Point Rd.
Code enforcement reported that 19 violations were corrected in July. Marry Ruth Briggs Library will host a summer reading program for children Saturday. The MPR Police Department reported 2,470 calls for service. Officers put out a porch fire at a residence on Retama Drive. Multiple calls involved residents calling about suspicious vehicles playing the Poke’mon game. Officers made eight arrests during traffic stops in July. Three of those involved drugs in the vehicle. Officers discovered two unlocked buildings doing night duty. Two homes were broken into during the month.
The Maintenance Department treated 5,069 gallons of water daily. Sampling was done daily with no problems found.
