While they were in Belton, they hosted clinics for Belton’s own Marching 100 and provided an evening of entertainment to those who made to the stands on Thursday night.
Belton Mayor Jim Covington surprised many of the members of the drum corps by showing up on the field Thursday morning to proclaim July 18, 2013, as Genesis Day in Belton.
“Whereas, the City of Belton appreciates [that] Belton students will have the opportunity and honor to participate with Genesis during the clinic, allowing our students to improve their abilities through collegiate and professional level teachings, while preparing them for any level of musical auditions or performances; and whereas, the camaraderie, teamwork, and good sportsmanship inherent in band participation with be enhanced through this exciting and challenging clinic for Belton’s Marching 100.”
To make it even more special for Belton and the Marching 100, two Marching 100 students are currently performing with Genesis.
