The Belton High School Girls' Summer Basketball Camp dribbled and passed its way to record numbers this week at Tiger Gym.
Over 80 campers participated in drills, skills challenges and lessons from Belton coach Brenda Gomez, South Belton Middle school coach and Women's Basketball Hall of Famer Fran Garmon and several basketball coaches on the high school and middle school levels.
Hit & Run '02 won the 2nd annual Temple June Fever Tournament, going undefeated and outscoring their opponents 32-0. They have one final warm up tournament this weekend in Austin before wrapping up their spring season and 10U campaign as they compete with the 30 best 10U teams in the State at the VTD Texas State Championships in College Station on June 21-23.
The UMHB football team will host a summer skills camp for students in grades 7-10 and two separate sessions for children ages 5-10 this summer. Each camp will be a one-day camp and will be led by UMHB assistant coach Cody Fredenburg and a staff of current Cru players and coaches.
There will be a camp for students entering grades 7-12 on June 14. That camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m. The cost of the camp is $40 payable by cash or money order only.
Registrations for the Belton Tigers Youth Football League 2013 season are now underway.
The mission of BTYFL is to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, BTYFL teaches fundamental values, skills and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives. There will be encouragement of mental and physical growth through trained instruction and keen competition. An emphasis will be placed on self discipline, moral values, academic achievement and social skills.
