GEM is a free mentorship program for Bell County High School Women. Throughout their senior year, GEM participants attend a series of events and classes to prepare them for life after graduation. Topics include college and career choices, personal finance, and health and nutrition. The program culminates with Project Prom, a special experience providing prom dresses, graduation dresses, and accessories for the events celebrating this important life stage. The next GEM class, focused on scholarships, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ralph Wilson Youth Center in Temple. Temple College will be presenting information regarding both scholarships and Financial Aid.

Members of the community are invited to support the Girls Empowerment Movement by providing monetary donations online at jlbellco.org as well as gathering donations of prom dresses, shoes, and accessories. Prom dress donations will be accepted starting in late fall. For more information and to RSVP, please email GEM at GEM@jlbellco.org.
