Magic Belles named Grand Champion in national competition

The Belton High School Varsity Magic Belles competed in the HTE Dance Nationals held at Incarnate Word University in San Antonio on March 27 – 28. The Magic Belles received “Grand Champion” for their Modern, Jazz and Kick routines, and “Super Sweepstakes” Awards in Large Team Category and 2nd place for their Novelty routine. The Officer Line achieved “Grand Champion” for their Modern and Lyrical routines and second place for their Jazz routine, as well as “Super Sweepstakes” Award. The Team was recognized by receiving the Showmanship, Choreography, Entertainment, Exemplary Technique and Precision awards and the Officer Line was recognized by receiving the Showmanship, Choreography, Exemplary Technique and Precision awards. The team place 3rd overall out of 45 teams competing in all divisions, placing 2nd in the Large Team division. The Officer Line places 2nd overall out of all officer lines competing.

The Hip Hop Company received “Grand Champion” Ensemble. Emma Soard placed 3rd and Jasmine Peng placed 8th in the Solo Finalists in the 11th and 12th grade High School category. Sarah Cesani placed 8th in the Solo Finalists in the 9th and 10th grade High School category. There were over 90 soloists competing. The duets by Sarah Cesani and Kristin Schiller won first place in the High School category.

The next appearance for the Magic Belles will be at their Spring Shows on May 2 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Belton High School Performing Arts Center. This will include performances from the Spring Kid’s Clinic attendees that will be held on April 18th at 1PM.
