The traffic lights under IH-35 and Holland Road will be up and running this weekend. The holdup has been the lights on the South side of IH-35. Since construction was completed there have been multiple wrecks under IH-35 at this intersection.
Sparta Road improvements near Belton High School is in the planning stages. Belton’s city council held a workshop last week to discuss the project that has been on hold.

There are still plans for a turnabout at the intersection of Sparta and Commerce.

Construction improvements on Sparta could begin as early as this summer. The bridge stretching over Nolan Creek connecting Main Street to Loop 121 is complete. The road has to be lowered on the east side of Nolan Creek at the crossing of the bridge. Work is still being completed along Loop 121 were MLK connects with Loop 121.

Changes are being planned along Main Street at the intersection of MLK and Main. Traffic control measures such as a possible median curb to help with traffic flow. Other traffic control measures are being looked at concerning this intersection. TXDot is also looking at a possible blinking yellow light at the top of the overpass along Main Street. Main Street heading north goes from two lanes to one at this point. Vehicles regularly go past the speed limit at this point trying to cut off the cars in front heading into the overpass. Traffic is usually backed to the other blind side of the bridge.
