A ground breaking ceremony was held at Bell County’s new motel located in Belton near IH-35. The 2.9 million facility will add 60 rooms and 34,000 square feet of building to the tax rolls.
It took almost two year to make the building a reality. It will be a three story building with 37 double queen beds and 23 king size. There will be three Jacuzzis and three concept rooms. Each room will have a 40” high definition television. The walls will be of stone with trees brought in and planted.
Expo Inn Suites will be a great boost the Belton economy. Grayhawk Southwest Management is the investment company.
“The design of the building will be attractive. It will be nicely furnished. Erin Smith (City of Belton) is wonderful to work with. The facility should be open by the end of the year,” said David Patel of Grayhawk.
“This is an investment in our community. The Expo Inn gives us 60 more rooms to market. It is a big addition to our tax base,” said Judy Garrett Director of Tourism for the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Having rooms for rent in Belton should help keep tourism dollars in Belton. A portion of hotel motel tax dollars are used to fund a variety of projects.
