Select Softball Spotlight: Buzz Garcia 8U continues learning the game, lose pair of close games

The CenTex Buzz 8U Garcia team played in the double-elimination bracket round of the Waco Tournament, held at River Bend Park last weekend.
Buzz played the TPS 8U squad to start the day. The Buzz had a 7-2 lead going into the fifth inning when TPS scored four runs to make the game 7-6 and squeezed across two runs in the top of sixth to win the game 8-7.

The loss forced the Buzz into an elimination game again Texas Dream 8U. The teams traded three-run, first innings before the Buzz scored four runs in the second inning to take a 7-3 lead. Dream answered with a run in the bottom of the second inning to cut the deficit to three.
A big third inning plated a seven-run limit without an out to give the Buzz a 13-4 advantage.

Dream scored six runs in the fourth inning to make the score 13-10 and had an inside-the-park, grand slam won the ball game at the time limit for the Dream 14-13.

Izzy Garcia went 5-of-6 with three runs scored in the two games. Lexi Dudeczka, Angelina DeLeon, Christi McGuire, Gabby Jones and Maddison Ruiz all had three hits on the day.
