Six take part in Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl activities

Six Belton seniors took part in the 2016 Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl games that took place on Friday and Saturday at various locations around the area.

Tanner Frick and Trent Stafford played on the FCA All-Star Red team in baseball, on team coached by Belton head coach Eddie Cornblum, Harker Heights head coach Randy Culp and West head coach Corey Beckham. The game was played on Friday evening at Red Murff Field on the campus of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. FCA All-Star Red won the ball game 9-2.

Sidney Holman played on the FCA All-Star Red team in softball. The game was played at on Friday evening at Dee Dillion Field on the campus of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She struck out five of the six batters she faced in an 11-10 win by FCA Blue.
Brey York and Allison Waits played on the FCA All-Star Red team in volleyball. The match was played at University’s Trojan Gymnasium in Waco. FCA Blue won the match three sets to one by scores of 25-18, 19-25, 25-18 and 25-18.
Cody Garrett played on the FCA Red team in football. The game was played at Waco ISD Stadium on Saturday evening in the final sporting event of the Victory Bowl festivities.The Blue team emerged victorious 7-6.
The athletes had an opportunity to fellowship with their fellow athletes, participate in community service activities and give testimonials on their relationships with Jesus Christ.
Holman was awarded the Gene Pemberton Servant’s Heart Award and York received the Molly Martinsen Braveheart Award.
