South Belton splits with North Belton, split SBMS Tourney titles

The South Belton Tigers took on North Belton Thursday night at home.  The Tigers went 2-2 on the night.
The South Belton 8th grade A team lost to North Belton 39-27. The top scorer on the night was Joshua Rardin with six points.
Tavious Allen played great defense for the Tigers. The lost brings the Tigers to 0-3 on the season.
The South Belton 8th grade B team beat North Belton 19-18. The top scorer on the night was Mark Bowers with 10 points.  Christian Estrada played great defense for the Tigers, forcing seven turnovers. The win brings the Tigers to 2-1 on the season.
The South Belton 7th grade A team beat North Belton 42-27.  The top scorer on the night was Cooper Babcock with 10 points. Ruben Jimenez played great defense for the Tigers.
The win brings the Tigers to 2-1 on the season.
The South Belton 7th grade B team lost to North Belton 22-13. The top scorer on the night was Roel Garcia with three points. Caleb Alexander played great defense for the Tigers, pulling down five rebounds.
The lost brings the Tigers to 1-2 on the season.

NBMS 7th, SBMS 8th claim South Belton Middle School Invitational Tournament Titles

South Belton Middle School’s gymnasiums were the place to be on Saturday morning, as the eight middle school teams from the 7th and 8th grade basketball played at the South Belton Middle School Invitational Basketball Tournament.
In the 7th grade semifinals, South Belton defeated Cove Junior High and Temple’s Lamar Middle School defeated North Belton. In the finals, the Tigers defeated the Bearcats to win the 7th grade bracket.
In the 8th grade semifinals, South Belton defeated Cove and North Belton defeated Lamar. In the finals, North Belton defeated South Belton to win the 8th grade bracket.
