That Art Place, owned by Ben and Michelle Weaver, offers four options for “Anytime Art,” along with scheduled classes.
“Our motto is ‘awaken your creativity,’ and we provide several different ways for people to do that! Our ‘Anytime Art’ is available on a walk-in basis, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The paint-you-own-pottery is perfect for all ages and pieces start at $14. The mosaic art is ideal for ages eight and older, with pieces starting at $16,” explained Michelle Weaver. “Board art is popular these days and participants can choose from pre-cut vinyl quotes, or we can help custom-create a design. The pre-cut fused glass projects are good for ages eight and older, and participants have some choice in what they create.”
Storybook Art, featuring a different book and art project each week, takes place Fridays at 10:30 a.m., for ages three and up. Teen Art Techniques, a class geared towards incoming 7th-12th graders, takes place on Thursdays in June and July, from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m., and allows participating teens to use different mediums each week. Special Needs Art Classes are available July 13 and July 27, at 10:30 a.m. for ages 7-12, at 12:30 p.m. for ages 3-6 and at 4:30 p.m. for ages 10-16.
“We have a multitude of classes available and more information can be found on our website http://www.thatartplacestudio.com/. We currently have two summer camps that still have slots available – Heroes in History, runs July 16-19, and Creepy Crawlies, which runs August 6-9. The camps are for children ages 5-12 and take place Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Registration for camp and classes can be done in person, over the phone or online,” remarked Weaver. “We love hosting parties, and the party package includes the party space, one hour of art instructor-led project, a party plate for guests to sign, and other details. Contact us at 254-613-4292 to start booking the party!”
That Art Place also facilitates corporate events and team building projects on or off-site. Corporate events have been hosted for a variety of businesses and can be tailored to meet the needs of the group or team.
“That Art Place is a perfect place to visit with a family, a girls night out, or any other social event! Local artists help teach our classes, and studio assistants are always on-site to help. Skill and artistic ability don’t matter. We are always here to support and teach our customers how to create art,” stated Weaver.
