Tiger ONE finishes second at BJGA Invitational

The Belton Tigers boys’ golf Tiger ONE flite played at the 2015 Burnet Junior Golf Association Invitational at Delaware Springs Golf Club in Burnet for the first round and Legends Golf Course in Kingsland for the second round.

Tiger One shot 312 on the first day, good for second place behind Austin Vandergrift A (295). The Tigers shot 313 (625 total) on the second day, but the Vipers’ A flite shot 292 (587 total) for a 38-stroke win over Belton.

The Tigers finished five strokes ahead of the Vipers’ B flite (630), 32 strokes over Lampasas (657) and 36 strokes over Georgetown (661). Other finishers in the tournament were Lake Travis (662), Burnet (677), Dripping Springs (677), New Braunfels (695), Copperas Cove Blue (721), Copperas Cove Gold (837) and Austin McCallum (875).

Dalton Hankamer led the Tigers with a two-day total of 150 (75-75). Robert Arnold shot 153 (75-78), William Paysse carded 155 (77-78) and Zach Hites shot 167 (85-82).

Tiger ONE’s next action will be at the Marvin Dameron Invitational in Waco at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club on March 20-21. Cottonwood will be the site of the District 12-6A Championships on April 7-8.
