Tigers, Lady Tigers tracksters head to Cove, Texas Relays

The Belton Tigers Track & Field teams head back to the proving grounds on Thursday as they head across US 190 to Copperas Cove for the Cove Invitational.

The meet will be held at Bulldawg Stadium, 402 Williams St. in Copperas Cove. Field events start at 3:30 p.m. and running events start at 5 p.m.

The last time out, the Tigers and Lady Tigers swept all divisions of the Wildcat Relays. This meeting is the next-to-last meet before the District 12-6A Meet, also in Copperas Cove, April 15-16.

Seven heading for Texas Relays on Friday and Saturday

Seven members of the Belton Track & Field team will be participating in the high school division of the Texas relays, being held this Friday and Saturday.

Tigers’ track and field members participating in the meet are Will Watson (110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles), Sam Hussey (Shot Put) and Calvin Johnson III (100-meter dash).

Lady Tigers’ track and field members participating in the meet are Kaylee Krenek (100-meter hurdles), Bekah Alcozer (Discuss), Brooke Gilmore (3,200-meter run) and Claire Woodson (Pole Vault).
