During the June meeting of the Central Texas College (CTC) Board of Trustees, members voted to appoint Jim Yeonopolus, president – Continental and International Campus Operations, as the interim chancellor. Yeonopolus has been with CTC for more than 40 years and has held several executive positions including deputy chancellor – Continental and International Campuses from 2000 – 2013 and dean of the Navy Campus and assistant deputy chancellor – Continental and International Campuses from 1990-1999. Prior to that, he held other administrative positions including dean of the CTC Service Area Campus and dean of Continuing Education.
Yeonopolus holds a master’s degree in education – guidance and counseling from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Science degree – education from then Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree from Walden University. Before joining CTC, Yeonopolus served in the United States Air Force and was recognized for his service as a member of Advisory Team 162, Vietnamese Airborne Division from 1970 – 1971.
Yeonopolus will serve as the interim chancellor until the CTC Board of Trustees completes its search for a permanent chancellor.
