Summer Moon Coffee celebrated its grand opening on Saturday in downtown Belton.
The Belton Mobile Moon coffee shop isn’t a traditional brick-and-mortar establishment, but it’s a coffee trailer.
Coffee lovers lined up as early as 4:30 a.m. on Saturday morning to partake of the blend of oak roasted coffee and sweet cream.
The celebration began at 7 a.m. and the first 50 guests in line received a Summer Moon swag bag, as well as a free coffee and samples of the “moon milk” cream for coffee. They were also able to put their names in for a drawing for a year’s worth of coffee, held at noon.
On Saturday, coffee drinkers also took advantage of outdoor seating, clustering around the tables, with outdoor heaters nearby to ward off the chill.
Belton’s Mobile Moon is a family affair, with Jack and Jackie Ralston, McKenna and Justin Brumfield, McKenzie and Doak Fleming, owning the coffee trailer.
They are thrilled to bring it to the bustling area of Belton, not far from Belton High School, Belton Middle School, and Sparta Elementary. The trailer is but a few blocks from UMHB.
“We can’t wait for the future and what happens tomorrow. Today was great, but we’re so ready to serve our community every day and not just our grand opening,” said McKenzie Fleming.
The family has been working to get to this point for a year, and look forward to serving up the coffee every day.
This is the 35th Summer Moon location and the chain’s second coffee trailer, with the other one located in Austin.
In addition to its coffee, Summer Moon carries a variety of merchandise that was available for purchase, to include a lineup of mugs, t-shirts, hats, as well as candles and even ceramic coffee drippers.
The Mobile Moon coffee trailer is located at 111 Sparta Rd in Belton. The trailer is open every day from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekends, and 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
Here in Belton, coffee drinkers can order ahead on their phones or otherwise online. As of press time, the online order button hadn’t been activated on the website. However, Mobile Moon can be reached at 254-718-5673, or via email at beton@summermoon.com for more information.
In addition to their hot brew, they serve up cold brew and Summer Moon also offers gift certificates and has coffee subscriptions available via their website.
Summer Moon also has locations in Austin, Round Rock, Burnet, Cedar Park, and Buda, as well as San Antonio, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the Houston area, El Paso, Kansas City, and Oklahoma City.
