Erick Miguel Del Toro, affectionately known as “Wewick,” passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Troy, Texas. Born on June 6, 2003, in Dallas, Texas, he brought joy and laughter to all those fortunate enough to know him. He was a kind-hearted and caring young man, whose vibrant personality and sense of humor left an indelible mark on family and friends alike.
He graduated from Temple High School and continued his education at Temple College, where he pursued a career as a surgical technician. His motivation for self-improvement and dedication to his education were inspiring attributes that defined his character. Erick worked at a local massage salon, where he was not only a committed employee but also a trusted friend to many.
In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Erick had a passion for life that was reflected in his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed drawing, often creating sketches of his girlfriend and future tattoos he envisioned, showcasing his love for abstract designs. He was an avid basketball player and had a fondness for video games, often immersing himself in games such as Rocket League, GTA5, and Plants vs. Zombies. Erick also had an interest in astrology and spirituality, which further enriched his perspective on life.
He took great pride in his physical fitness, dedicating time to working out and maintaining his health, which he viewed as one of his proudest accomplishments. His collection of colognes mirrored his attention to detail and desire to present himself well, further exemplifying his driven nature.
Erick is survived by his loving parents, Angelica Del Toro and Juan Del Toro; his three sisters, Anahi, Yoselin, and Stephanie Joanna Del Toro; his girlfriend, Maya Powell; as well as his two beloved dogs, Pepper and Bear.
He is preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Don Miguel Gomez and Don Juan Manuel Del Toro;
His warmth, kindness, and strength will be profoundly missed, yet the memories he created with those around him will forever live on in their hearts.
Visitation services were held at Young’s Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center in Temple, Texas, on September 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass in his honor took place at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Temple, Texas, on September 9, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM, concluding at 3:00 PM.
