Jana L. Sharpley, CFRE, is the new of president of the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation. Sharpley began her work today as the foundation’s top executive, a development and fundraising organization that provides philanthropic support for the 13-county Central Texas service area of Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH).
“I am excited about working with the wonderful people in Central Texas and the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation,” said Sharpley. “I consider it a privilege to work in an organization that benefits the community by providing quality health care, enhanced by research and education.”
Sharpley is a native Texan and a 21-year veteran of development work with more than 12 years in higher education-associated health care systems. Most recently, she was the executive director of development for the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Sharpley comes to her new position with some excellent experience with BSWH. From 2004 to 2007 Sharpley served as major gift officer for the Baylor Health Care Foundation, where she developed the CEO-to-CEO Personal Edge Program and implemented personal gift strategies.
Before joining Baylor Health Care System, Sharpley was the associate executive director of development for the University Medical Center Foundation – the teaching hospital for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Sharpley graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
