The Belton girls’ varsity golf team won the 2015 Leander Invitational Tournament held at the Crystal Falls Golf Course.
Madison Smith led the Lady Tigers with a score of 83, good for second place overall. Allison Peterka shot 91, Morgan Thomasson carded a 95, Allie Jones shot a 96 and Taylor Parillo carded a 106. The team score was 365.
Belton’s junior varsity team shot 413, as Megan Ramsey shot 101, Kaelin Connor carded 103, Haley Entrop shot 104, Madison Chitwood shot 105 and Kamryn Merritt shot 106.
Bailey Sebastian of Leander shot the individual tournament low score with an 82.
Leander finished second (371), followed by Wimberley (380), Vista Ridge (395), Belton JV, Bastrop (414), Salado (418), Lampasas (433), Rockdale (434), Cedar Park (444), Hutto (446) and Rouse (464).
Jones carded a special event on her card: a hole in one. The historic event took place on the eighth hole, a 106-yard shot to the pin with a pitching wedge.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on March 24 in Burnet at the Delaware Springs Golf Course.
