Raymond Martin

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Raymond Edward Martin, who departed from this world on April 14, 2024, at his home in Belton, Texas. He was born on September 26, 1951, in Brady, Texas, to Freeman and Velma Martin.
Raymond was a man of many accomplishments and a loving family man. He dedicated his life to serving others as a Nurse Anesthetist for both the Army and Baylor Scott & White in Temple, Texas, where he provided care and comfort to countless individuals. After serving his country for 20 years, Raymond retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. On January 20, 1979, Raymond married the love of his life, Deborah Kenny, in San Antonio, Texas. Together they raised a wonderful son, Jason Martin, MD of Dallas. Raymond will always be remembered for his kindness, hard work, and unwavering love for his family.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; Freeman and Velma Martin, and brother Richard Martin.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Martin, of Belton, his cherished son, Jason Martin, MD, who with his wife Elizabeth, and four grandchildren reside in Dallas, Texas, and his brother Ronald C. Martin of San Angelo, Texas.
A graveside service to honor the life of Raymond Edward Martin will be held at a future date at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.Services are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, Texas.
