Belton ISD is proud to announce that Kris Hobson, principal of Lake Belton Middle School, was selected as the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 12 Outstanding Middle School Principal of the Year. This esteemed award recognizes Hobson’s outstanding leadership and dedication to creating a positive and effective learning environment for each and every student.
Hobson has been an integral member of the leadership team at Lake Belton Middle School for 13 years, serving as principal since 2014. During his tenure, Hobson has introduced innovative programs, fostered a strong school culture, and maintained an unwavering dedication to student achievement. Under his guidance, Lake Belton Middle School has experienced significant improvements in academic performance, student engagement, and community involvement.
Hobson is widely respected for inspiring students and staff, earning praise for his innovative approach and commitment to excellence. His approach to hands-on leadership ensures every voice is valued and heard.

As the TASSP Region 12 Outstanding Middle School Principal of the Year, Kris Hobson will be recognized with winners from other regions by TASSP in June. This recognition not only underscores the excellence within Belton ISD but also the district’s commitment to cultivating leaders who inspire and lead with purpose.
