Strong

Jane Bischoff Strong

January 8, 1950 – July 14, 2024

It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we let you know our mother, Jane Bischoff Strong, passed away the morning of July 14, 2024, at the age of 74. She gave this world two children, and she loves them fiercely. She is celebrated by her daughter Samantha Crumbaugh with spouse David, and her son Josh Strong with spouse Courtney.  She has five grandchildren, Avery and Abby Jackson, Dylan Crumbaugh and Hunter and Paisley Strong. She loved watching her grandchildren grow.

She was a second grade teacher in Belton for 27 years, touching so many lives. She considered each of her students her own children and felt that education was just part of the job. Her calling was to love and nurture children.

Jane was truly the definition of a graceful woman. This is shown in her sparkling, grace-filled blue eyes that over and over again chose to see the best in people and never assume the bad. Her arms were always open to everyone, and her lap was a home base, a consistent seat of affirming love for each of her grandchildren.

She not only appreciated creation, she was a joyful steward of it — becoming a Master Gardener. A trip to Houston in her Miata was not complete without a stroll through the Cornelius nursery. Every time she would approach the outside garden area in all the vibrant colors, she would comment- “I just feel like I’m with God here.” Known for pointing and excitedly saying “Look” out of a car window or on a front porch, she gave time and notice to the details of life that are often overlooked. We will go forward acknowledging all of the things she taught us to appreciate.

Every hint of glitter, every morsel of chocolate.

Every swaying branch in spring, every scampering squirrel.

There’s nothing she loved more than to share. She leaves us all with a legacy of Jesus’ living love today, and a happy reunion awaits.

Whether you knew her as Jane, Nana, Mrs. Strong, Ms. Jane or Mom, the family invites you to a visitation on Friday, July 19th from 6-8 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, July 20th at 2 p.m. at Dossman Funeral Home, 2525 North Main, Belton, TX 76513.
